Ikechukwu 'The KING' Listening party at Silverbird

Sssoooooooooo I had some excitement yesterday in the ever dull continuum of my life, I got a phone call to redeem my social life from the rut it has been idling in anyway long story short my friends at Underground entertainment were having a party last night at OPIUM LOUNGE former Jazz Sessions so they call me up and ask if I could help them with some last minute PR at silverbird...why not??!!! I had heard about the listening party but nobody said it was a listening carnival!!! or that Wande Coal was going to perform!!! People please give detailed info! I almost did not go and I haven't been to this kind of thing since Naeto C's album launch at Volar, Jade Palace that was June...July last year cant even remember.

I don't regret going though and officially it has been the highest point in my week maybe second highest next to the Kit Kat I had today (I'm a hopeless Kit Kat addict!) : ). The Atrium at Silverbird Galleria was so full it was actually hot. Omobaba 1 was the MC and held it down with some really funny moves. I absolutely loved Wande Coles performance. It was a cameo of all his 'of the moment songs 10/10, Ileke, Bumper to Bumper...I didn't dance o! Imagine I was to busy recording but 9 minutes and two aching elbows later I found out the sound on my camera was off so yeeeeey!! silent concert. I know...Daft.

It was really nice because the crowd was really feeling Wande like crazy. Ikechukwu's entrance was...hm mm whats the word...I don't really know I guess they wanted to hype up the crowd a little so he rode the glass elevator up, down, middle, up again, middle, down, up up as in how far?
I guess it worked as people saw him in there with Sasha and started screaming. One girl beside me was like 'I looovvvee you Ikechukwu!!!!!' I was almost expecting her to throw her thong at his shiny head...lol.

I saw some famous faces and took some pictures, some...

Julius Agwu

Nomoreloss and Me myself & I

Bola a.k.a ILL

Basically I enjoyed It and I didn't stay till the end but the ambiance and the energy was great. My high point was this girl I had spotted...hmm my image consultant part sprung to life because I absolutely loved her outfit. I literally flew out of the building to get her picture and forgot to ask for her name....

I love her skirt and let me just say her legs go on forever so that skirt is way way up! she is wearing a classic tank top, classic but pairing it with this satin of the moment skirt four inch heels and an oversize clutch and the classic tank top is sexy!! She knows what her assets are and deftly displayed them because main item of her outfit is very Bright she went for low key , very casual accessories. Id really love to congratulate her but i cant. This look is ideal for drinks, clubbing night parol not dinner. It will not look great on you if you are heavier on the bottom because the silhouette of the skirt will make your hips look much wider than they are. then if you are heavy on top, the apple shape stay away from this outfit !! If you want a more casual look you could match the same outfit with flat metallic sandals like these

and a dark brown or any other dark coloured bag. I prefer totes because i have small shoulders and I think they are more stylish. The effect is that you make your whole outfit about one piece which for me is the skirt and play everything else down but still complementing the colour on your focus piece. That way when a person looks at you they see a balanced image not too put together and not too i dont care just nice not sexy. With a pony tail and hoops you re good to go!Ive got to go I have a wedding to attend tomorrow and my dress doesn't fit...hmmm. Mwah!!

Silverbird Cinemas

Silverbird cinemas
133 Ahmadu Bello Way,
Victoria Island, Lagos.

I'm not really a movie person but Ive been going to Silverbird since 2004 or 2005 I'm not even sure which. Sometimes to watch a movie which was almost every week when I was in Unilag because it is N500 with a student ID..cheap. Then they had this really cool accessories shop downstairs I used to go to but its not there anymore. Then there was M cafe ice cream and my boyfriend had a little party for me there in 2008...(oohh happy times)

The cinema itself is what I love because they get the latest movies on time and premier them the same time or almost the same time it premiers abroad. Wolverine just premiered on Wednesday. Even if you are not a movie goer there are a bunch of shops you can just walk through. There is now a bowling alley though it looks like its more for children. You could also get a semi permanent tattoo or eat out at Double 4, Barcelos, Mcafe...on and on and on!!

I have friends that literally go to Silverbird just because of the popcorn they sell at the concession stands, you should try it. I personally always go for sweet popcorn, hot and sticky and you'll almost have downed half the pack before your movie starts. lol.

Anyway back to the theatre, it has 5 screen rooms all fully air conditioned, great picture quality and surround sound effect. Ahem!! a quick warning in Lagos people talk while the movie is going on, they also clap, allow their phones ring and have conversations while a movie is going on so if you aren't used to this you might have to brace yourself. The extra sound effect sometimes and only sometimes add to the excitement of a movie...only some times.

For more information on movies, showing times etc visit their website at http://silverbirdcinemas.com/

Asides from watching a movie I also recommend Baglios for ice cream, Barcelos for a club sandwich, Dream nails studio for dream nails, Silverbird lifestyle for literature, music, games etc...
